General

The domain is the web address that identifies you on the Internet, for example: www.mycompany.com. It works like a house address; it is what people type to find your website.

Hosting (or web hosting) is the space where all your site’s files are stored: text, images, databases, emails, etc. It is like the land where the “house” (your website) is built. Without hosting, the domain would have nowhere to display your page.

Both the domain and hosting are services rented on an annual basis. If they are not renewed on time, the domain may expire and become available for any person or company to register.

Because domains function as temporary licenses: you have the right to use it as long as you keep your payments active with us. If you do not renew, the website is taken down, and the domain is released and can be purchased by someone else (including competitors or resellers).

Digital Ownership

Imation owns the hosting, as websites are installed within our private server. This allows us to guarantee the correct configuration, security, and stability of all sites hosted on our servers.

Due to security policies, server access is not granted, as an unauthorized modification could affect not only your website but also other hosted projects.

In reality, no one “owns” a web domain permanently. Domains function as a temporary usage license, granted by official registrars in exchange for an annual fee. At Imation, we include domain registration in our web development packages to facilitate the process and ensure your site is correctly configured from the start. As long as the service is active and payments are up to date, the domain will remain registered and managed. However, if the domain is not renewed on time, it is automatically released and can be acquired by any other interested person or company.

For reasons of security, stability, and technical support, we do not work with external domains or hosting, unless the domain is transferred or assigned to our administration. This is because each server has different configurations, and by using third-party services, we cannot guarantee the correct operation, speed, security, or protection of the website’s information. By hosting your project with us, we ensure that your page operates in a controlled, optimized, and backed-up environment, where our team can provide immediate support and maintain the integrity of your site at all times.

In the event that the client wishes to obtain full administration or transfer the website to another server, we offer two transfer options: you may request the transfer with additional costs for migration and technical configuration, or just request the executable files of the site.

1. Direct transfer to the client’s hosting (with additional cost):

  • Imation will perform the installation of the website directly on the hosting provided by the client.

  • It is essential to have all hosting access and credentials.

  • The site will be delivered working correctly, according to the original configuration.

  • Generates additional costs.

2. Delivery of files for self-installation (no additional cost):

  • Imation will download and package the site’s executable files.

  • A link will be provided to download the complete package.

  • The client will be responsible for performing the installation on their hosting.

  • No additional cost.

  • When installing on another hosting, misconfigurations may occur in elements such as images, forms, visual styles, or other functionalities.
  • Imation is not responsible for errors, loss of functionality, or malfunctions resulting from the migration.

  • Once the website is delivered or the transfer is completed, maintenance, updates, hosting and domain payments, technical support, and security remain the sole responsibility of the client.

Maintenance and Updates

The packages already include hosting and domain rental for 1 year. At the end of the year, we offer you the option to renew the service or cancel it.

Yes, we offer maintenance plans (updates, backups, monitoring, support). In the proposal, we indicate what each plan includes and the monthly or annual cost.

We perform migrations; we evaluate the current site and quote the work (it is important to check the size, CMS, database, and email).

Pricing and Payments

The “starting at” price includes the basic package listed (e.g., hosting and domain for 1 year, SSL, configuration, responsive design, and a number of sections/products depending on the package). Extra functionalities (integrations, large catalog, custom development) have an additional cost.

Generally, we request 50% as a down payment and the other 50% once the website is delivered and running. We accept transfers and payments via methods indicated in the proposal or contract.

Yes, we issue a formal tax invoice at the end of the project or according to the agreed payment schedule. The listed services do not include the 8% VAT (IVA) or any other type of tax.

Timeline and Deliveries

Times vary according to complexity, but with all the required information, a digital business card or landing page can be delivered in 5 days; a corporate website usually takes 2 weeks; a store with a large catalog may take longer.

We indicate the number of included revisions in the proposal (e.g., 2–3 rounds). Additional changes are quoted separately.

SEO, Performance, and Analytics

We include basic technical optimization: tags, metadata, speed, and responsiveness. Advanced SEO plans (content, link building, campaigns) are quoted separately.

E-commerce and Payments

We integrate common gateways (e.g., Mercado Pago, PayPal, Stripe, or other local ones). The choice depends on the country and client requirements; some gateways require their own documentation and charge commissions.

Yes, the stores we develop include catalog management, inventory, and tools for promotions, depending on the chosen CMS or platform.

Security and Backup

Yes: packages include an SSL certificate, and we perform periodic backups according to the hosting/maintenance plan.

We include basic security plugins and configurations, and we offer cleaning and monitoring as an additional service.

Support and Warranties

We offer technical support according to the contracted plan. Generally, our plans include one monthly information update during the first year.

Yes, we offer a warranty for fixing errors related to development for a defined period of 1 year.

Legal and Compliance

We advise on the inclusion of privacy notices and policies, and we can implement mechanisms for cookie consent, but the legal responsibility and the veracity of the notice remain the full responsibility of the client.
